Our Sunday morning service follows a traditional pattern.
Our primary source of music is our new organ which is utilised to full effect by our organist, John Evans.

We make great use of many of Charles Wesley's wonderful hymns and other
old favourites from our regular Hymn Book "Hymns & Psalms". We also include
some more recent popular songs.
We are very fortunate to be one of few Churches who still have an SATB* Choir
leading our singing each week. In addition to leading the hymns,
the Choir usually perform an introit and an anthem at each service.
They have a very varied repertoire from the more traditional style
anthems to very recent compositions including songs from Africa and America.
More details about the Choir can be found on the CHOIR page.
*SATB refers to Soprano (Contr)Alto Tenor Bass musical scoring for choirs

Our Minister, Reverend Paul Taylor, also looks after 4 other churches in the Chester circuit,
Saughall, Mickle Trafford, Guilden Sutton and Huxley. Services not taken by our own minister
are usually led by local 'lay' preachers. These are people from many walks of life who have undertaken study and training
and have passed rigorous exams and assessment before being appointed to these roles. This approach,
which is common in methodist churches in the UK, provides great variety and depth for our Sunday morning services.
Occasionally we have a DIY service where members of the church lead the service,
normally led by a specially trained worship leader.

Holy Communion is incorporated within Sunday Morning service about every 5 or 6 weeks. All are invited to
share at the Lord's table regardless of affiliation to this or any other church.

From time to time, children are welcomed into the church family by Baptism during Sunday morning worship.
Anyone who would like their child to be baptised should contact Rev Paul Taylor on Chester 321950.

We have a small number of children who join us, some regularly, some occasionally.
On most Sundays, children leave the main service during the first or second hymn to enjoy their own
activities. We also have a comfortable lounge with a cupboard full of toys where children under 3 may
be taken at any time during the service. When there is a communion service, children return in time to approach the
communion table with their families and receive a blessing. Occasionally we have all age worship where
children remain in the service throughout.
